During my graduation year I set out to create a group of 14 paintings. Alongside these paintings I wanted to create a kind of 'instruction booklet', outlining their unusual creation in a manner that was reminiscent of the instruction booklets that accompanied video games in the 1990's.
Wanting to get some feedback, I approached a publisher who was teaching at this institution and had been sympathetic to my work in the past.
He vehemently urged me not to create such a book, as it would certainly amount to nothing less than suicide, insisting that any spectator would devalue the work if they got so much as a peek at the creation process.
Four years later I decided to self-publish this Instruction Booklet anyway and two years after that the library of the very same institution acquired a copy of this booklet for their collection of artist's books.
